The Best Date is Seoul: Lotte World at Night

Lotte World at night is another dream date in Seoul you can make come true. The amusement park has already been featured in several popular K-dramas like Stairway to Heaven, Love Alarm, True Beauty, and many more. They’ve been doing their best to promote Lotte World at night as the ultimate date night destination for most couples. It has just enough excitement for adrenaline junkie couples, or for couples like us, who prefer the vibrant setting only for the vibe and enjoy activities that are more calm and relaxing.

There is an admission fee that comes with its own benefits, including free entry to the Folk Museum and access to various rides. Some rides do require an additional fee, but we think that even with just the basic admission, there’s already plenty to enjoy. You might only need to spend extra on food adventures or if you spot any cute merch you want to buy (there are some adorable shops here!). Here are some ideas for a perfect date night at Lotte World at night.

Arrived at Lotte World at 5 and Explore!

The admission fee after 4 PM at Lotte World is actually cheaper than the day ticket. The day ticket costs around 64,000 won, while the After4 ticket is 52,000 won. If you’ve already booked your entry ticket, we suggest arriving around 5 PM to redeem it and still have enough time to enjoy many things in the amusement park. The adventure usually begins in the indoor area of Lotte World Adventure.

There’s a fun little “tradition” locals often do before exploring Lotte World, renting school uniforms at Gamsung Gyobok. It’s a large uniform rental shop with various sizes and stylish Korean school uniform designs you can mix and match. Then, top off your look with a cute bandana for a fun final touch! You might also want to check out Booth Luck, a self-photo studio where you can take photos in casual costume rentals too. There are many gift shops, photo studios, and arcades to explore.

Don’t forget to grab some light snacks to boost your serotonin! You’ll find churros, ice cream, popcorn, and cotton candy inside Adventure 1F. If you’re in the mood for Korean snacks, try Lotte World’s signature tenant, Treeble Snack.

Romantic Rides in Lotte World at Night

Before 7 PM, take some time to visit the Folk Museum, it’s a free part of your entry ticket. As a tourist, it’s fun to see the miniatures and life-size dioramas on display, covering the history and culture of folk Korea. If you’re a museum or history enthusiast, it’s definitely a spot that’s hard to miss. And really, there’s no excuse, it’s free!

Many of the rides inside the Adventure area are included with your entry pass. Some that really caught our attention were the Bumper Cars and, honestly, mostly the arcade games. There are also 4D and 5D interactive cinema rides, and even an ice skating rink if that excites you.

But we couldn’t miss the iconic Camelot Carousel. It’s big enough for adults too! At the very least, taking a romantic photo by the carousel is a must if you’re planning a date at Lotte World at night.

World of Light and Magical Castle in Lotte World at Night

It’s 8 PM! Just like Disneyland, Lotte World also has an evening parade called World of Light in Adventure 1F. At first, it might feel a little less exciting because most of us might not be familiar with the Lotte World mascots, but they put on a really exciting parade with illuminated floats and dancers in glowing costumes. The parade lasts for about 30 minutes at most.

After that, it’s time to transition to Magic Island, the outdoor area of the amusement park. At 8:40 PM, there’s another performance you can watch: Magic Castle Lights Up. When the sky is completely dark, the castle becomes the brightest spot with its fantasy-themed 3D multimedia mapping show, featuring the wizard Lotty casting spells. It’s truly a magical sight, making your date night feel even more intimate and warm.

Explore Magic Island at Night: Dinner and Moon Boat

The Magic Castle Lights Up show only lasts about 6 minutes, and after that, there’s still time to enjoy more of Lotte World at night. For couples who love extreme rides, there are options like the Gyro Drop and the Atlantis super-speed rollercoaster.

It’s also the perfect time to grab some dinner. While there are more restaurants inside Adventure, we think the food court area in Magic Island feels perfect as the evening gets cozier. When else can you enjoy a casual dinner experience with a view of an illuminated castle and glowing rides all around? It might not be a full main-dish dinner, but grabbing several types of snacks feels just right for a date night in an amusement park. For something savory, you can try the giant chicken legs, then grab some boba milk tea from Gong Cha. And for dessert, there are plenty of sweet treat stalls to explore!

In the end, we think there’s no better way to close your romantic date at Lotte World at night than by riding the Moon Boat. This ride is absolutely perfect for couples. Especially at night, the glowing moon-shaped boats drift over the surface of Seokchon Lake. A Moon Boat, which has three seats (but you can keep it just for two), costs 25,000 won for a 20-minute ride.
